Part 1:

For a city which holds the title of “Destiny” it sees, yet, another day wrapped in blankets of grey.
After a restless night I awake to the piercing sound of a bad purchase made some months ago in order to aid in the work process. It is not the alarm clock’s fault. It is just doing its job. Besides the brisk autumn air plummeting in from the window left open from a midnight cigarette seven hours prior would have eventually ended my inadequate slumber above all else the infuriating cries of an attention-loving feline’s desire for its food- fix.
In the years proceeding preparing for the day had felt motorized. Recently my days are fixated around the thought of being one man’s morning coffee: An acquired taste which eventually most people become reliant upon in order to initiate their day. Once captivated the idea of being without almost seems excruciating.
Once I was self-righteous, determined to hold myself above the sea of shit known as the grim segments of human existence, I have faltered a few times, but nothing discouraging enough to wave the White Flag. I am winning the battle of career endeavors, but unhurriedly trailing in matters of the heart. It is self-inflicted permitting mental blows rather than obvious physical abrasions. There is decadence to my demeanor. I despise this trait.
Leaving the confines of my bedroom I quickly run into the morning-chilled bathroom all while avoiding the cat’s demands and waking my housemate. The faucet pours cold water into the plugged basin although the knob marked “H” is turned. Splashing my face quickly I receive, not only, a chill but a daily dose of cat hair which has been a common occurrence since April. Disgusted I return to my bedroom to finish up my “morning ritual”.
After throwing an outfit on which meets both mine and work standards, I leave the house at 7:47. I must act as the aircraft with the similar digits to make it to work on time.

……To be Continued.
